While in Grasmere Don’t miss the Famous GRASMERE GINGERBREAD SHOP, a tiny lake-land shop started in 1854 by Victorian creator cook Sarah Nelson, & this unique spicy-sweet cross between a biscuit and cake is baked fresh every day and is still enjoyed by food lovers all over the world, the shop now sells a whole range of delicious treats from rum butter to ginger beer.  William Wordsworth – home in 1799 was Dove Cottage here in Grasmere.
