Lake District ~ Grasmere & Ambleside

Join us on this day excursion to the picturesque Lake District in Cumbria, & today we travel to the beautiful  lake-land village of  GRASMERE, famed for it’s stunning scenery, St Oswald’s church, Rydal Mount, Dove Cottage & museum, once home of the poet William Wordsworth, who described it as ‘The most loveliest spot that man hath found’ set alongside Grasmere Lake shrouded by a panorama of mountains & fells that provide the perfect atmosphere, so beloved not only by Wordsworth but countless romantic poets through the ages. A fabulous visit is included today to SARAH NELSON’S Famous Gingerbread Shop, for a Pit Stop where you will be served tea/coffee/ their famous & delicious gingerbread & oak cakes, plus, a guided tour giving you all the fascinating history of this famous & much loved historic shop.

Later we will travel on for a visit to the market town of AMBLESIDE , standing at the head of Windermere surrounded by some of England’s finest scenery & Lakeland fells this stunning town is delightful, visit its quirky Bridge House, Armitt museum, independent shops, cafes, restaurants, bask in lakeside strolls & savour everything this tranquil town has to offer. A lovely, fun day excursion for all the family to enjoy.
