PORTMEIRION ~ This enchanting Italianate style tourist village, designed and built by Sir Clough Williams -Ellis between 1925 – 1975, with the Castell being the largest & most single imposing building on the estate, all now owned by a charitable trust, this is a must visit – day excursion. See the beautiful grounds contain an important collection of rhododendrons and other exotic plant, also exquisite architecture, clusters of colour-washed buildings around the central piazza, giving it its Mediterranean feel.

Portmeirion in North Wales is famously featured in numerous films, music videos, tv programmes the most famous being the cult tv spy drama, The Prisoner in the 1960’s, as well as an Iron Maiden song, Dangerman, Doctor Who, Cold Feet to name a few, often depicting the village as an exotic European location.
